🎓 Qualifications & Experience

University Degree in Marine Engineering, Technical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Must have served as a 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer on seagoing vessels.

Experience in Tanker, Gas Carrier, or Container Vessel operations will be preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of vessel maintenance, marine engineering, and maritime regulations.

Good commercial awareness, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English.

Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities effectively.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Oversee vessel maintenance and ensure compliance with Classification Society, Flag State, statutory, and maritime regulations.

Monitor vessel performance and resolve technical issues, defects, and operational challenges.

Plan and supervise vessel repairs, dry-docking activities, and shipyard operations.

Prepare and monitor annual maintenance and dry-docking budgets.

Conduct vessel inspections, internal audits, and technical assessments.

Implement and monitor the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).

Coordinate with procurement teams for vessel spare parts, stores, and inventory management.

Liaise with Classification Societies, Flag State authorities, shipyards, and suppliers.

Support vessel crews with technical guidance and remote assistance.

Ensure implementation of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.

Prepare monthly technical reports covering maintenance, inspections, vessel performance, and budgets.

Coordinate with Operations, Crewing, Purchasing, HSSQE, and Marine departments.

Identify crew training requirements and participate in technical training sessions.
