Ismail Industries Limited is looking for a dedicated and results-oriented Deputy Manager - Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will lead the maintenance, reliability, and commissioning of mechanical systems to ensure safe operations and equipment performance in line with technical standards and project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all mechanical equipment, including the management of lubrication plans and PM checklists.
- Conduct root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
- Direct mechanical engineering activities for the construction, installation, and commissioning of new plant facilities.
- Manage external contractors and OEM vendors during FAT/SAT, performance trials, and project handovers.
- Supervise utility systems including steam boilers, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment, focusing on energy efficiency.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Safety departments to uphold statutory compliance and safe work practices such as LOTO and ATEX.
- Develop and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets and oversee annual maintenance contracts.
- Support food safety systems and drive continuous improvement through TPM, 5S, Lean, and Kaizen methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; an MS or MBA is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of milling machinery, thermal equipment, pneumatic conveying, and packaging machines.
- Familiarity with PLC/automation interfaces and electrical drives.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CMMS, and MS Office; experience with SolidWorks is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, mechanical drawings, GD&T, and equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000/FSSC standards.
