Extravis is seeking a motivated Network Engineer based in Karachi for a remote position. This role is ideal for a candidate passionate about enterprise IT infrastructure who is keen to develop their skills in network automation, security, monitoring, and real-world troubleshooting.
About the role
The successful candidate will work with enterprise networking technologies, applying fundamental routing, switching, and security concepts while maintaining and monitoring network performance.
Requirements
- Strong grasp of CCNA-level networking fundamentals, including routing and switching.
- Hands-on familiarity with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and OSPF.
- Understanding of core network services such as DHCP, DNS, NAT/PAT, and SNMP.
- Knowledge of network monitoring concepts, specifically Syslog and NetFlow.
- Foundational skills in network security and general network troubleshooting.
- Competency in Cisco IOS CLI and basic Linux concepts.
- Experience using network simulation software such as Packet Tracer, GNS3, or EVE-NG.
- Prior practical experience in the field is required.
- Familiarity with network monitoring systems is desirable.
