What is WPS in UAE?

The Wage Protection System (WPS) is an electronic salary transfer system that allows the Ministry of Human Resources to monitor and ensure timely payment of wages to employees in the UAE. All employers must process salaries through WPS-approved channels.

Is there income tax in UAE?

No, UAE does not have personal income tax. Employees receive their full salary without tax deductions. However, corporate tax of 9% applies to businesses with profits above AED 375,000 since June 2023.

How is gratuity calculated in UAE?

End of service gratuity is calculated as 21 days of basic salary for each of the first 5 years of service and 30 days for each subsequent year. The total gratuity is capped at 2 years' total salary.
