Key information for hiring employees in the United Arab Emirates
Standard working hours are 8 hours/day, 48 hours/week. During Ramadan, working hours are reduced by 2 hours daily for Muslim employees.
Employees are entitled to 30 calendar days of annual leave after one year of service. Unused leave can be carried forward or paid out.
Gratuity is calculated at 21 days basic salary for each of the first 5 years and 30 days for each subsequent year.
Health insurance is mandatory for all employees in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Employers must provide compliant coverage.
